Take a look at all the items on the list that the inspector has uncovered. Fix as many of the minor ones that you can afford to look after. You may think that something as minor as a sticky door, torn screen or a dripping faucet is a quick fix that will not matter to a potential homebuyer, but neglecting to repair these relatively minor items is enough to put doubt in a buyer’s mind about what bigger issues they might be buying along with the house.

If there are other repairs on the list that you either can’t or are not prepared to pay for, get estimates from contractors for the work. Some buyers may overestimate how much the repairs may cost.
