Must-Do Projects for DIYers

So, you are a DIY aficionado and you can’t wait to unleash your talent in your home. But you are worried that the projects you are considering are too big for you. We understand. It can be a bit scary knowing that you can easily mess up and then spend a lot of money trying to fix it.

But you should not keep yourself from doing some DIY projects. Here are some great DIY projects that we think you should definitely take on:

  1. You are probably expecting this. Time and again we’d tell you, sometimes all a room needs is a little fresh coat of paint. It doesn’t even have to be the entire room. You can opt to paint just one panel. You can even just paint the trims or the wood furniture and the change will already be amazing. Just remember that for your project to be successful, you have to learn the right technique, and use high-quality paints and brushes.

  1. Replace the hardware on your cabinets. You know how a change of accessory can alter your entire look? The same goes for cabinets. Just by replacing knobs and handles, you can easily go from traditional to playful, minimalist to bold, or whatever look it is you’re going for.

  1. Give your bathroom a makeover. It does not have to be a full-scale remodel because remember, the project should be something you can do. So maybe you can make (or buy) a new shower curtain, build a new vanity, and more.

  1. Make your own lighting fixtures. Like faucets, lighting fixtures can instantly change the ambience of a room, and even the smallest changes matter. You can install new bulbs of a different shape or colour. If you are really crafty then you can make new covers for your lampshades.

  1. Wallpaper the insides of your shelves. It’s a good way to add a punch of colour without overpowering other elements. If you’re up to the task, you can also install the same paper on an accent wall to match.

To give your home a facelift without spending too much, you can also go for simple home improvement projects like replacing your doors and windows, among others.
