Organizing Tips to Help You Make the Most out of Any Room in Your House

It is amazing how as years go on, houses also get bigger and bigger and well, they get more cluttered, too! How can this be, you ask? Well, it seems like we find more stuff for our homes that we deem necessary when we have no ability to buy additional space.

What this means, in extension, is that we spend more time trying to sort our way through our excessive stuff in an attempt to maintain even the smallest hint of order in our homes. This becomes extra difficult especially when you are living with kids. We are sure that you’d prefer spending your weekends relaxing than braving knee-deep clutter trying to find your floor.

So what should one do in such a situation? One word can solve it all. ORGANIZE! Organizing things around your home means you are creating designated spaces for everything. This is something that you do once and just maintain all the time. If you need tips to organize all the rooms in your house and make the most of them, then read this blog for some great ideas.

Install shoe holders that you can hang behind doors. You can find the cloth kind with about 20 pockets that you can use for not just shoes, but for other knickknacks as well. For example, you can label each pocket – keys, receipts, coins, craft supplies, and more. This would also be perfect for your kids’ rooms so they’d have a storage for their smaller toys. You can even make it fun and ask your little ones how many they can put in accordingly.

Take advantage of spaces under beds or sofas. You can also use bed risers to add space under your bed. This space is usually unused, but you can get some clear shoe boxes or under-bed organizers to store linens, shoes, or even old magazines that you just can’t let go of.

Things of the same kind should be kept together. This means that you should store your jewelry in a box, watches in another, and so on. There should also be a designated clutter bag in every room.

Finally, make use of your barren walls. If you are going to install something on your wall, instead of getting frames or paintings, you can opt for shelves where you can arrange books, CDs, and more. You can also place knickknacks in decorative boxes that you can place on these shelves as well.

Sometimes, when we get lost in the middle of all the clutter in our homes, we forget to maximize the space that is available for us. The key is to visualize where things should go and to creatively optimize unused corners and spaces for storage.
