When discussing home renovation projects with our clients, there are many frequently asked questions that our team gets asked over and over again. We thought this would be the perfect opportunity to write a blog with all your home renovation questions answered.
How long will my home renovation take?
When you speak with a member of our team regarding your home renovation service, we will give you a realistic timeline for the project.
Whether it’s a new roof, windows, or siding, we will carefully consider the scope of the project and provide you with a realistic timeline. Typically, many of our projects are completed in just a few days.
How much will my home increase in value after my renovation is complete?
When you invest in your home to increase its curb appeal and update or replace important structural elements like the roof, you will see a return on your investment. In fact, when homeowners list their properties, often the first two questions they are asked by potential buyers is: How old are the roof and the furnace? Although each project and home is unique, we estimate that you can expect to receive a 68% return on the investment in a new roof if you choose to resell shortly after.
Do I need permits for my home renovation?
For the home renovation projects that we complete at George Kent Home Improvements, you will not typically need to apply for any permits. There are some very rare circumstances where permits may be required and, if this is the case, we will discuss it with you to ensure that you understand exactly what is needed.
Can I replace my roof in the winter?
Yes! We can do roof replacements 12 months of the year. Our shingles have a special sealing strip and, as long as it’s at least five degrees and/or sunny, they will seal without issue.
How do I prepare for my home renovation?
We recommend that you move valuables and delicate items out of the way if you’re getting a new roof or windows. We take pride in our cleanliness and will respect your home like it’s our own. However, as with any construction work, there is bound to be some dust and disruption. We appreciate your understanding and we will work with you to ensure that you are properly prepared and pleased with your home renovation project.
